This years AGM was held on Monday 18th January at St Mary's Church Hall, Cop Lane, Penwortham.

Meet and Greet

As everyone arrived for the AGM they were offered tea and biscuits, as well as the opportunity to purchase raffle prizes. There were lots of prizes kindly donated by many people. Sheila Melrose (Site Secretary) welcomed and thanked everyone for coming, and read out apologies for those who couldn't make it. She then introduced Sam Alwyn, a local artist and allotmenteer whose recent work includes working with willow.

Sam Alwyn Talk

Sam Alywn introduced her work and career through a slideshow of the paintings and sculptures she has created over the years. Sam incorporates everyday material into her artwork that creates a stunning visual effect. She explained her work with local community groups and explained how her recent experiments with willow have resulted in a new outlet for her creativity. Sam finished her presentation by showing us a recent creation that was still under development, a willow chair, and offered free samples of freshly cut willow for us to experiment with ourselves.
